Workplace AED Training For Retail
An Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is a portable device designed to treat sudden cardiac arrest. It enables you to respond quickly and confidently in life-threatening emergencies. The AED provides step-by-step instructions to help you deliver advanced cardiac life support, including analysing heart rhythms and delivering a controlled shock when needed. It also prompts when to begin CPR, making it suitable for use by individuals with little or no medical training.AEDs are becoming increasingly common in workplaces and public areas. However, many people who own or have access to one may not feel confident using it, or may use it incorrectly. Understanding how to operate an AED before an emergency arises can greatly increase a patient's chance of survival. This course ensures you are prepared to act effectively and responsibly.
Please note that once your booking is confirmed, we will be in touch to schedule the date for your AED training session.
The course covers how to recognise a cardiac emergency, when and how to activate an AED, and how to provide appropriate support.
Training can be delivered either in-house or at our training venue. As AED use is already included in many standard first aid courses, this standalone training is offered only on mutually convenient dates.
During the course, candidates will be expected to demonstrate understanding and competence in the primary survey, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), managing an unconscious casualty, recognising chest pain and angina, responding to cardiac arrest, understanding the chain of survival, using an AED, and effectively handing over to emergency services.
Even if you've never used an AED before, this course will give you the knowledge and confidence to respond correctly in an emergency, helping you save lives when every second counts.
