Adrenaline (also called epinephrine) is secreted by the medulla of the adrenal glands. Strong emotions (especially fear or anger) are responsible for causing it to be released into the bloodstream. This process results in increasing the heart rate, blood pressure, sugar metabolism and muscle strength, it is often referred to as the “flight or fight response”.
