Myoglobin (MB) is a small cytoplasmic heme-containing protein which consists of a single 153 amino acids polypeptide chain with an approx. molecular weight of 17kDa. It is a globular structure protein which is made up of eight alpha-helicies that are connected through the turns with an oxygen binding site.
