Heart Valve CG Future Ring and Band System

The opening of a normal mitral valve is basically kidney-shaped. The rim of the opening is called the annulus. In some diseased mitral valves it loses its shape, becoming more circular than kidney-shaped. When this happens, the mitral valve can not close the way it should and blood flows backwards into the left atrium. The semi-rigid CG Future® Annuloplasty System is used to restore the annulus to its proper size and shape.
