Optimizing customer value with Arjo’s Guide for Architects and Planners
The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Redevelopment outside Adelaide in Australia is an example of how Arjo works closely with builders and architects to help create an efficient care facility with space for the company’s solutions to deliver optimal value. The project also includes Arjo’s largest installations of ceiling hoists in South Australia.
The purpose of the redevelopment project, launched in 2021, has been to upgrade and expand the hospital’s emergency, critical care, and surgical facilities.
“When we are involved in the early stages of a project, we can provide practical advice on planning and designing care facilities, as well as design inspiration for different types of rooms,” says James Blieschke, Sales Director at Arjo Australia.
The Arjo Portal for Architects and Planners streamlines the process by assisting architects every step of the way, from early advice on room layouts and space requirements, to drawings support and equipment installations.
“Our long history of collaborating closely with architects, safe patient handling experts, hospital and aged care executives has taught us that allocating sufficient space early in the planning stages is key to create an efficient care facility with a good working environment,” he continues.
First Maxi Sky 2 Plus installation in South Australia
The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Redevelopment project features the first installation of the Maxi Sky 2 Plus Bariatric unit in a South Australian Hospital. With a capacity up to 454 kilos, the ceiling hoist enables comfortable and dignified transfers of non-ambulatory bariatric patients.
“Three bariatric rooms were equipped with the Maxi Sky 2 Plus system, which has been a real highlight of our work at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital,” says Ivan Molina, State Manager at Arjo Australia.
In addition to the three bariatric rooms, Arjo’s ceiling lifts can be found throughout the hospital, such as its gym, general wards, ICU, patient bays, emergency department and changing places. Arjo have also supplied other products including medical beds, stretchers, slings, and foam and air mattresses.
