TENA U-Test – Deliver Net

TENA U-Test is a new innovative product designed for the easy detection of urinary tract infections and is now available from medical equipment supplier, Deliver Net. The TENA U-test is comfy to wear, easy to interpret, and spares residents and careers the hassle of separate urine collection. Taking just 15 minutes to validate the results, TENA U-Test facilitates early and correct detection, or exclusion, of urinary tract infections sparing residents of unnecessary suffering. The in-pad solution detects the presence of nitrates and/or leucocytes in urine and can be easily incorporated into the normal pad changing routine. Using TENA U-Test: Clean the resident’s skin and genitals which will come into contact with the test. Remove the test from the packaging and use immediately following normal pad changing routines. A green validity indicator demonstrates that the test is ready to use. U-test results are available 15 minutes after the resident has urinated. Remove the TENA U-test at the next regular pad change by pulling the blue strip. Compare the test fields in the reaction indicator with the reference colours printed on the film above to read the results. Reading the TENA U-Test: If the green validity indicator turns orange the test is valid. If the white Nitrit indicator changes from white to pink, or the Leuco indicator from white to violet, the test indicates a urinary tract infection. If both indicators change there is a high probability of urinary tract infection. If the result is negative reconfirm the reading after 15 minutes, the resident may have urinated shortly before reading the test. Results are valid for up to 24 hours.
